How to organize small spaces to make them look bigger.
A small house is always resourceful! When space is limited, the organization is all, but some little tricks on how to furnish it are enough to have a house that looks like a huge palace!
Light is everything
The first secret that makes it seem like a small house wider is the light: if there are few windows do not despair, use mirrors, white curtains and tear down the useless walls!
Functionality
Think about what you really use: on the coffee table next to the couch, you have never put anything, not even the remote? Remove it! You don’t use to eat in the kitchen, never in the kitchen? You’ll never need a table there, you’ll never use it! When space is limited, insert only the furniture you really need!
White and colors
White is the best friend of small spaces, but sometimes even the colors can be your ally: choose only very light colors and use them sparingly. Don’t make a room completely yellow, but one wall give the room more depth and vividness. Do you want to bring out a room? Choose a slightly darker color for the anteroom: overlooking from there the rooms the room seems brighter and more spacious!
Free corners
When there is a little space everybody use to leave more space in the middle trying to store the furniture in the corners: this strategy does not always pay. Your living room might seem wider area if you create a triangle with a sofa, love seat and coffee table in the center. A library may make the home more spacious if not positioned against a wall.
Hidden spaces
Even in the smallest houses there are areas that you don’t expect: under the bed and under the sofa you’ll find the perfect space to hide what you wanted to put in the cellar that you don’t have. Are there stairs? A perfect space to put shoes or create a nice library.
Sliding doors
Sliding doors are a little secret to earn a lot of space: you will have the opportunity to enter one more piece of furniture or, if you don’t want new furniture, you’ll have a free wall which will make the room more spacious!
